Commercial property surveyor Burston Cook has been announced as the headline sponsor of this year’s Lord Mayor of Bristol Gift Gala.
The city’s business community have traditionally been strong supporters of the event. Burston Cook was also a sponsor last year, alongside others including Ashfords LLP, Rybrook Cars and GWR. The event is also supported by Barclays Bank through its ‘Pound for Pound’ scheme and the Bristol Post.
Director Julian Cook said: “It is an honour for me as a director of Burston Cook to help and support the Lord Mayor’s Appeal. Last year we sponsored the production of the film but this year we wanted to make a bigger statement about our support for this charity which really helps at a grassroots level.
“To think Bristol is one of the UK’s most prosperous cities, yet has the highest proportion of children in poverty, really does hit a nerve with me and therefore to have an opportunity to help is a privilege.”
Lord Mayor Cllr Alexander said: “We are so grateful to all our sponsors, without whom this event wouldn’t be possible. Their commitment to the charity is very special. “
